Eila's room, maybe with the exception of the crib, looks more like a bookstore than a bedroom. She has more than 500 books lining the shelves: picture books, board books, fairy tale books, story collections, pop-ups, you name it. Eila gets no fewer than four bedtime stories a night, and that's not counting the other stories she gets throughout the day. Eila's favorite place to read stories is curled up with BABS (that's her giant bear -BABS is short for Big A** Bear). Eila's Auntie Kim made her that special bear, and BABS makes for a great place to curl up and share stories together.
I also keep a basket of books next to BABS that I change out every couple of weeks or so. I try to theme the books in the basket to the season, upcoming holidays, or even what Eila's studying at school. (Note: Eila's daycare gives us weekly lesson plans aligned to the Early Childhood Learning Standards, and the lesson plans come with suggestions for how parents can extend the learning from the classroom at home.)

Now, like any 2-year-old, Eila does have her favorite books that we read night after night after night, but I definitely try to mix things up for her and introduce her to new titles. Just a few weeks ago, we had to read Neil Gaiman's Instructions every night before she would even think about going to sleep. She just loved the picture of the months sitting around the fire - she thought they looked like the ghosts from the Haunted Mansion :)
