So, as we were gearing up for our last trip to WDW, the one thing I almost forgot was the thank you notes. Disney's cast members work really hard to spread the pixie dust, and it's important to return the favor. My husband thinks I'm a little crazy, though. He thinks a few crumpled up dollar bills shoved into the hands of our Magical Express driver does the trick. I prefer to be a little more classy.
Toward this end, I sat down at the dining room table with Eila, some Disney stickers, and some cards and envelopes (given to my by my best friend, Kim).

I just wrote a simple note inside, sometimes adding those few dollar bills, too, let Eila have fun putting Disney-themed stickers all over them, and packed them in my park bag/carry on. We made sure to include thank you cards for our Magical Express drivers, Mousekeeping, and a few extras for those super-magical cast members.
Over the course of our trip, we used almost all of the thank-you's we had made - including one to a special Magic Kingdom cast member who helped us secure a sweet spot for the Main Street Electrical Parade. The best thank you, though, went to Claire, a cast member at the United Kingdom Pavilion at Epcot.
I had been searching high and low for a special Alice in Wonderland tea mug, and it turned out that not only did she know what I was talking about, but she had purchased the entire set and owned the one I had been questing for. Both of us have an affinity for Carroll and tea, we discovered as we chatted. She asked when we would be back in Epcot, which was a few days later. In the meantime, she went home, found her receipt, wrote down the SKU for the item, and when we saw her a few days later, she gave me all of the contact information for Merchandise Guest Services so that I could track down my very own mug! She was so amazing that not only did she earn one of our special homemade thank-you cards, but I also made a special point to visit Guest Services on my way out of the park to tell them what a fantastic job she had done. The woman I spoke to at Guest Services told me that the Disney Parks have a special ceremony (with certificates and recognition) for cast members who receive guest comment cards. When I heard this, I was so happy I had taken a moment to repay the consideration Claire had shown me. In the end, I was glad I could help a cast member like Claire get the recognition she deserved for her wonderful customer service - both from Disney itself and in the form of our little homemade cards!
